REQUISITOS

      • Edad: Tener menos de 30 años.
      • Académico: que hayan transcurrido menos de 2 años desde la finalización de tu graduado o posgraduado.
      • Idiomas: Buen nivel de Inglés. TOEFL/Prediction score como mínimo de 550 (no necesariamente aplicado para casos de selecciones para prácticas previamente definidas).
      • Carreras: Haber cursado una carrera relacionada con Gestión (Ej.: Administración, Economía, Turismo), Comunicación (Ej.: Periodismo, Relaciones Publicas, Publicidad), Idiomas o Técnicas (Ej.: Ingeniería Informática). Si tu perfil no encaja con una de estas carreras, puedes informarte acerca de intercambios sociales o contactar con la oficina local de AIESEC para más información.
      • Experiencia: Mínimo de 6 meses a 1 año de experiencia en el sector en el que se quiera encontrar la práctica, excepto en el caso de la ingenierias y magisterio.
      • Flexibilidad de destinos a los que te interesaría irte de prácticas.

EVS for mental health en Cluj-Napoca, Romania, del 1 marzo al 30 Noviembre 2014

Project Summary

The project seeks to facilitate the personal development of two young people from different countries through a 9 months voluntary service in a project aimed at mental health promotion for the local community of Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

Objectives

 To help participants gain a better understanding of themselves, of society and of Europe.

 To foster the development of communication, learning, social and cultural competencies and of a sense of initiative in the participants.

 To empower members of the local community in Cluj-Napoca in mantaining and improving their mental health.

 To facilitate intercultural learning among members of the hosting organization.

Activities

 The volunteers will be involved in the following types of activities:

 Organizing events, including awareness raising events, personal development workshops, and education events,

 Public campagins and other visibility activities for the project, the host organization and the Youth in Action programme,

 The chance to help develop projects promoting alternative therapies, including art therapy and animal-assisted therapy,

 Leading trainings for the members of the host organization and/or other young people from the community,

 Photo and video documentation of the service,

 Recreative activities with children in the Cluj Children Psychiatric Hospital,

 Social activities with the elderly,

 Writing and coordinating projects on mental health topics, based on their own ideas.

Profile of the volunteers

 25 – 30 years old,

 Fluent in English ,

 Interested in psychology and mental health,

 Motivated to develop competencies in the mental health field,

 Willing to learn and to develop oneself.

Dates and place

Should the project be approved, the service will take place between the 1st of March– 30th of November 2014, in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

Minte Forte Organization

Our organization was established in 2010 and boasts an enthuziastic team of volunteers. Its main goal is to promote mental health among local community members through mental health education, support for persons with mental health problems, and psychological optimization.

Some of our regular activities are :

 The Mental Health Week, an annual project dedicated to raising awareness on mental health issues,

 The Center for the Mind, offering psychological counseling and psychotherapy for people with mental health problems and monthly information sessions,

 Animal-assisted therapy for children with emotional problems,

 Recreational and socialization activities for children in the Cluj Children’s Psychiat-ric Hospital,

 Personal development workshops, on topics such as: emotional intelligence, re-laxation techniques, time-management, etc.

 International youth exchanges, trainings, and study visits within the Youth in Ac-tion programme.

Volunteer´s profile:

We wish to receive volunteers with reduced opportunities, but who are strongly motivated to perform voluntary activities during the stage, who are willing to learn Romanian, to adapt and to work with young people from urban and rural areas, promoting the principles and the values of the European Union, focusing on the importance of the European Parliament and the vote system.

It would be great if the youngsters who take part in the stage had knowledge of social or political sciences, they knew or wanted to know the electoral system for the European system and wanted to get involved in promoting this information.

Moreover, these youngsters should have the following qualities: punctuality, seriousness, good English language skills, they should be communicative, capable of speaking and make themselves understood by a group of people.

The European volunteers will develop the following topics:

  • The European Union-principles and values
  • The European Union´s Institutions-importance, role, attributions, focusing on the European

Parliament.

  • The reprezentativeness and civic participation at European Union level

Our Project proposes two important objectives:

The First Objective: increasing the degree of understanding of the youngsters regarding the principles values, institutions and public politics of the European Union.

* The activities proposed to reach this objective:

  • The approach, during some study modules, of topics referring to the principles and values of the European construction, the structure and the importance of the European Union´s institutions, the reprezentativeness and civic participation in the European Union.
  • The organisation of informing campaigns regarding the approached topic through the involvement of the Pro Democracy Clubs from high-schools in Braila;
  • The volunteers from the participating countries in this project will have to learn to work in a team with the Pro Democracy Clubs, developing projects that will have as target groups of poor and rejected youngsters;
  • The organisation of a vote process simulation for the European Parliament, after the informing campaign, about what it means to be a member in the Europeam Parliament;
  • The support of the youngsters from Pro Democracy Clubs who will be proposed to subscribe to be voters on voting cards during this vote process simulation, in order to result an electoral campaign simulation;
  • The preparation of supplimentary materials and the spreading of the information, regarding the European Parliament in EU and the relationship between the citizens and the Parliament.

 

The second objective: the increase of involving degree of European youngsters, starting from the active citizenship principle and the relationship between the European citizen and the European Parliament.

* The activities proposed to achieve this objectiv:

  • The organisation of informing seminars in schools where there are Pro Democracy Clubs, on

topics concerning the European Union and the European Parliament, participatory democacy and

,      the relationship between the European citizens and the European Parliament;

  • Spreading Pro Democracy Club´s network and the vote process simulation for the European

Parliament;

  • The development of the younster´s capacity to work in a team regarding the organisation of some

projects that will address to the poor and rejected young people;

  • The meeting with European Parliamentaries who will speak about the relationship between the

European citizens and the European parliamentary;

  • The preparation of a brochure called „EU in the Parliament” which will contain information about the European Union and the European Parliament, the organisation of the vote process simulation through the Pro Democracy Club, testimonies of European the volunteers.

“Animate Your Volunteering”

Project type: European Voluntary Service

Title: “Animate Your Volunteering”.

Duration: 4 (four) months with stages starting in march / april 2014

Venue: Arad / Romania

Activities: The basic idea of the project is to discover the true meaning of volunteering in local neighbourhood, the need for it and present it to the public in easy to understand, attractive graphic form. Volunteers involved in the project will make street and internet research about all possible meanings of being volunteers and their active role in local neighbourhoods. Volunteers will ask people what does it mean to be volunteers for them, what is the role of volunteer in local neighbourhood and put the answers as database of ideas to create at least 8 short animated movies (with use of free of charge software such as powtoon, or simply frame by frame animation with use of drawn pictures).

Movie 2: how big is the need of volunteering?

Movie 3: what can You learn by being volunteer?

Movie 4: EVS volunteer – presentation of EVS and YiA

Movies 5-8: practical examples of collaboration with local organisations in need of volunteers

Volunteers also on the basis of internet research and street interviews will discover in local neighbourhood possible places of being volunteers and what good can be done there by volunteers, after which they will put the conclusions in the animated movies in order to create the kind of advertisement of such places for recruitment process for other – future volunteers. In the animated series, volunteers will describe competences which are initially needed to become volunteer and especially the competences, which one can acquire while volunteering. In order to test the results of the research volunteers will work for a limited time of two weeks in chosen organisations. This experience will be also put into the movie, which at the end of everything will become animated diary which will summarize not only the volunteering stage but also EVS as an action from YiA Programme at the final stage of it. The EVS stage will finish with an event for public, which will contain as main feature the projection of the created by volunteers movies. Our project is great opportunity for EVS volunteers to go out from own neighbourhood in native country, visit and test oneself in another conditions and eventually come back home with head full of ideas how to work for benefit of local neighbourhood and how to transform oneself from the volunteer to regular paid worker – we put special emphasis on skills and abilities which may be useful to find a job later.

Tasks and objectives:

–        To create at least 8 animated movies about volunteering

–        To collaborate with at least 4 local organisations in need for volunteers

–        To learn Romanian language and Romanian culture

–        To acquire at least 1 new competence

–        To enhance at least 3 competences

–        To reach at least 80 people in total with messages about volunteering through animated movies within 4 months of project duration

Methods: non formal way of education (learning by doing) and informal one; e-learning

All You need to be a volunteer is:

  • strong motivation to spend 4months in multicultural environment of Romania
  • strong devotion to work according to task oriented schedule
  • strong believe in non-formal and informal way of education
  • ability to focus and work 7 hours per day, 5 days per week

Fewer opportunities: This EVS project is addressed especially to persons with fewer opportunities. Please see document attached.

Other conditions: are determined by EVS programme. We provide food, accommodation, training cycle and travel costs refund within Youth in Action programme rules and budget for action 2 (at least 90% of travel costs).

The Project “Advocacy ForThe Environment” promotes explicitly the non-formal education, the voluntary concept regarding the protection and conservation of the environment.

The project “Advocacy For The environment” will engage 4 young people from 4 European countries  who will learn about the importance of the environment, how to identify problems regarding the environment, what needs to be done for the protection and conservation of the environment and also how to work together as a team in order to achieve the objectives of this project.

The highlight of the project will be to transform the young volunteer into active responsible european citizens who will stand up and fight against the environment problems, being aware that the actions we do today will affect the future generations.

The program will combine various non-formal education activities such as: participating at various trainings that focus on the protection and conservation of the environment but also on means of doing this; visiting the town in order to identify the environmental issues, and how to fight against them; performing street animations, organizing debates, round table discussions in order to raise the community awareness regarding the protection and conservation of the environment; street actions such as planting trees involving other young people from the community,  etc.

EVS project “Making choices, doing changes” .

Project will aim in development of virtual community, usage of innovative internet tools for promotion of active citizenship, European Parliamentary elections in 2014 and designing initiatives for local neighbourhood.  Deadline of the application is 3rd of September 2013.

EVS project is divided into two stages: in first stage EVS volunteers will develop local virtual community surrounded around special topics such as healthy lifestyle, freedom of speech or sport activities. Virtual community will be developed through internet tools such as blog, microblog, videoblog, motivational quotes and other tools of interaction between people in virtual world. Through those internet activities EVS volunteers will promote also European parliamentary elections in may 2014. After elections, during the second stage of the EVS with the use of the same internet tools EVS volunteers will develop initiatives for local neighbourhood which can be sustainable in future within framework of virtual community. Total duration of the project is 5 months.

Project will contain elements of sport – through regular sport activities such as weekly running or riding a bike EVS volunteers will get integrated into local society, find target groups and complete tasks / objectives of the project in both dimensions: virtual and in real life. We offer balanced and healthy style of EVS activities: indoors and outdoors.

Project will take place in Arad in west Romania, starting from march 2014. Duration of the project is 5 months.

Conditions are determined by EVS rules. We provide food, accommodation, training cycle and travel costs refund within Youth in Action programme rules and budget for action 2 (at least 90% of travel costs).

We address this project especially to young people with fewer opportunities.
