HOW TO SEND YOUR APPLICATION

In order to apply for the EVS project it is necessary to be citizens
and legally resident in the country involved: Estonia, Latvia,
Portugal, Spain, Ukraine. It is necessary to send your CV in European
format whose template is available at the following link

together with motivation letter in English.

All necessary documents should be sent to
selections@informa-giovani.org clearly stating the corresponding code
which appears in the first column if the table attached below. E.g. if
you want to apply for Greece you should state  in the object of the
mail”  EVS-GR-SCI”.

Incomplete candidatures, not written in English or sent after the
deadline won’t be taken into consideration and no request for further
documents will be sent after the deadline.

However it is possible to apply for more than a EVS project sending a
separate mail for each project according with the countries involved
in ( see table below).

Deadline for sending documents is 18th November at 00.00 p.m for  EVS
projects taking place in Ukraine, Greece, Portugal Italy ( except
Isola delle Femmine) and Iceland.

Deadline for sending documents is  on the 2nd of December at 00,00
p.m. for all for  EVS projects taking place Isola delle Femmine, Italy

SELECTION PROCEDURES

Potential candidates will have time to apply for each EVS projects
according with the deadline appearing in the corresponding column of
the table attached below. After the deadline IG staff together with
the hosting organization will make a first selection and will contact
candidates, according with the additional selection criteria indicated
in the table, for a further Skype interview with the aim of assessing
motivation, knowledge of the EVS programme, deepen knowledge
concerning each specific project.

After final decision, selected candidates will be contacted to prepare
their departure, insurance enrolment and to follow a pre-departure
training in cooperation with each sending organization.

All EVS projects will last 12 months, with the exception of Italy/
Isola delle Femmine  which will last only 7months and Greece/TRAG
which will last 10 months.

IMPORTANT REMARKS TO ALL THE PROJECT DESCRIPTION.

All EVS projects foresee international insurance scheme, a language
course, and a mentor assigned who will follow volunteer especially in
the first phases of the project, will help her/him living in a foreign
country. Concerning tasks and working activities and programme, a
Tutor will be assigned to supervise her /his tasks.

Holidays are foreseen: 2 days will be gained after each month of
service implemented and will be taken in accordance with the hosting
organization.

If foreseen to implement activities during the week end, one free day
will be taken in the following day during the week in agreement with
the hosting organization. All volunteers will have the opportunity to
receive Youthpass certificate after the end of the whole EVS project.

For some hosting projects, as IG, or Sci Hellas or Seeds it is
possible to have a peak of activities, especially in the summer
therefore it is requested flexibility and availability in that period
especially for what concerns  long holidays which will be agreed with
the hosting organization.

Each project detail will be specified in the Skype interview and will
be clearly defined through an activity agreement which will be signed
by Coordinating organization, hosting organization, sending
organization and the volunteer.

Voluntario EVS en Gdansk. Inicio 31 enero 2014

  • The Project will be developed in Gdansk (456.000 inhabitants)and in the Pomeranian Region.Our office is situated in Wrzeszcz, the financial district of Gdansk. There are lots of transport connections by tram, train and bus. The neighbourhood is calm and safe, and you will find every service you can need in a city without walking more than twenty minutes. You won’t have problems to enjoy your leisure time: the district and the city are full of sports courts, gyms, cinemas, cultural centres and libraries, while the cultural life is really intense.In our building you can find three floors where all our workers and volunteers work. Everything is well organized and you will have your own desk, as several rooms to develope different workshops. Every office is totally equipped.

    Our workers are young, active and motivated, and they work in the Eurodesk and Euro Information points, besides their work in different local, regional, national and international projects. Everybody can speak English well, so a fluent communication won’t be a problem, while the environment at the office is nice.

    You will find your own appartment in the same building. Volunteers share the bathroom and the rest of common areas.

Tasks

The volunteer will have to develop a “Skills Bank” in Gdansk, trying to create a net of local volunteers where every volunteer can give and receive different skills. This feedback can be about languages, new technologies, workshops, arts and everything that can be included in non-formal education. Volunteer should have in mind which activities he could teach, which could be useful for the local community and which he would like to implement. In addition, the volunteer will have to organize several workshops, trainings and different projects with youngsters in all the Pomeranian Region, according to the needs of the Pomeranian Youth Found. Those activities that we also propose for this volunteer are: – Polish lessons – Cooperate with other volunteers – Help with office work – Cultural meetings with the local community to show them your culture – Develop your own projects, according to your interests – Networking Some skills you can get from this volunteering are: – Experience – International environment – Different languages – New ideas – Fresh view of the work in a NGO – How to deal with specific targets – Team building – Creativity development – Communication – Polish culture – Cultural management

Criteria

We’re looking for +18 person who really wants to be a volunteer. Dynamic, creative, active, sociable, patient and who knows what she/he wants to do. The volunteer has to be able to develop projects and to feel self-confident. We need ideas and people who want to cooperate with different targets of people, giving their best to the local community. Flexibility is very important. Our European volunteer shouldn’t be afraid of travelling and shouldn’t have bad habits. We would like to host a person with interesting hobbies, really motivated, curious about non-formal education, with independent or critical thinking, open to different cultures, willing to experience Polish way of life. Polish language is not needed, but the volunteer should have interest in learning it; English skills are needed. Previous experience could be useful but not vital.

We will contact with all those volunteers who fulfill our expectations, and we may require them to answer some more questions before having an interview on Skype.

“European Mobility can make Volunteering really count!”: an ambitious EVS project about Youth European citizenship Have you ever wished to act for a better Europe? Join us and:

  • influence public opinion via on-line-press coverage
  • awareness young people on the added value of volunteering in building a successful career;
  • experience the reality of the Union by crossing the borders

The  EVS project “European Mobility can make Volunteering really count !” is about how this european human right: Mobility can support the youngster with fewer opportunities (minorities, unemployed youngsters) to become a socio-professional integrate person.
In our project the EVS volunteers have the opportunity to develop themselves as activ citizen and to achieve useful competences for involving in their future professional activitis.  Also they can improve various aspects of the local community while being actively involved in volunteering projects initiated by themselves.

Their own experience and actions can play an important role in changing the mentality and attitude of local community’s members regarding the involvement of young people in solving the communities’ needs. Also the EVS volunteers will act for constience the local multicultural community of Braila about it’s integration’s potential for all his members.

The tasks and activities of the EVS volunteers:

a) – will organize 3 public debates for youngsters on problematical themes : job/employment, how does volunteering and mobility help them in getting a job, European citizens rights of the youngsters and minorities. Non-formal method used: social debates.

b) – Will realize (from design to full content) 3 editions of on-line news-paper (on Social -media) : “EVS= European Mobility + Integration for Youngsters“ involving young people from local community.

c) – Will initiate 3 volunteering projects in the local multiethnic communities involving youngsters from the local communities..

d )- will hold non-formal sessions for young people about how to write a CV europass, a letter or motivation for success and how to prepare themselves for a job interview: useing non formal methods of education: Forum theater , role-play, brainstorming, working in teams.

The beneficiaries will be especially the local youngsters with fewers opportunities: unemploieds, from rural or socially marginalized communities, helpless from their own family.

As EVS volunteers youwill receivetrainingin the following areas for developing in good conditions the EVS activities :
      –     Democracy and European Human Rights,

  • Comunication and publishing in Social-media
  • Management in YiA Programme context
  • Search techniques for a job (how to design a successfull CV and ML, how to prepare for a job Interview)
  • Romanian Language courses,

Note that: This project needs a permanent initiative, involvement and creativity efforts from all the EVS volunteers participants in.

To be selected as EVS volunteers in this project you have to:

  • be willing to make a change in your life and your mentality,
  • make the effort to adapt and live in a completely new multicultural community,
  • to finalize your volunteer projects despite the difficulties:
  • be determined  to promote volunteering through your own volunteering activities

Will have priority to be selected young people with fewer opportunities: member of an ethnic minority community, unemployeds, from rural communities, have never had a multicultural experience.

The Host Organisation is responsible for making all the practical arrangements of the project.

Food: Each volunteer will be given a certain amount of money every month for food- 80 Euro in RON. It will be paid to volunteers in Lei. It will be the responsibility of the volunteers to prepare/buy meals for themselves. The volunteers can buy ready made meals, go to cafes, bars and restaurants in the town or buy food in the shops and supermarkets.

 

Accommodation: Volunteers are going to be ensured with separate flat in a block of flats, at the address:  Braila. Each volunteer will have her/his own room. They will be provided with a standard equipment/ essential household goods, shared cooking, washing, laundry and social facilities. Thhey are responsible for cleaning their own room and the commun space in the flat: kichen, bathrooms, hall.

 

Working hours: The volunteers together with the project coordinator will agree about the working hours and a weekly schedule. The amount of volunteering should not exceed 30 hours per week: 6 hours per day, 5 days per week, two consecutive days off per week and 2 days holiday per month for the duration of the project

 

Holidays: The volunteers work 5 days a week. For every month of work each of them can get two extra days free. They can accumulate the days and take longer holidays. Nevertheless, they have to obtain the agreement regarding the dates from the Host Organisation.

 

Insurance: Sending Organisation are responsible for the volunteers’ insurance. All the parties are obliged to get acquainted with the insurance rules.

 

Local TransportA monthly local transport allowance is provided .

 

Comunications: Internet and mobil phone acces is provided (in the apartment and in the office of HO).

 

Volunteer Allowance:  The volunteer will receive a monthly allowance of 60 EURO, in RON

.The activities will take place respecting a fixed program. However, you will have the opportunity to come up with own ideas of how to actively involve yougsters in our activities. We are flexible and open for volunteers’ ideas. The volunteers are welcome to come up with their own proposals for activities. They can organize their own classes for our target groups according to their needs, skills or hobbies.”

  • We’re urgently looking for a volunteer willing to do EVS in Russia starting in autumn 2013 and lasting for 10 months! The project is financially approved!

Tasks

Main lines of activities: rehabilitation activities and support of disabled children in the Centre of curative pedagogics of Nizhny Novgorod, social inclusion of disabled children. Host organization – rehabilitation centre “Veras”

Criteria

Countries volunteer can come from – Germany, Spain, Belgium, Italy, Ireland, Poland, Netherlands, Finland, Switzerland, Hungary Profile of the volunteer: we’re looking for a motivated volunteer aged between 18 and 30 with basic knowledge of Russian, readiness to work with disabled children, open, creative and enthusiastic about social work.
