Participants:

30 participants, 2 per organization, 1 with fewer opportunities per organization

Participants’ profile: youth workers, youth leaders or educators willing to develop their skills and knowledge in non-formal education, and in the topic of art in youth work in order to improve the quality of future projects and activities that they implement or in which they participate.

Summary of the Project:

We expect to work with a mixed group of people with fewer opportunities and without, in order to give them a global vision about what Europe is and how it can help them on their way. We believe that non-formal education does have a strong influence to change difficult situations and this is why we come up with the idea of this project. We want to inspire our participants to reach new approaches in life through art, music and performances in an international environment.

The project will offer the opportunity to discuss and debate several important issues that normally do not exist in the formal systems of education. It will give the chance for participants from EU countries for individual reflection about how music and media can bring a group together creating a strong connection among participants thanks to the activities and workshops we will create for them.

The methods used during the training will create the situation of common learning and exchange and will provide tools to improve the quality of the youth work in the home countries of participants. We ask our future potential partners to believe in the topic and to send us motivated participants linked with music and art performance.

The Promoter:

Asociación Mundus and Oportunidad Europa are looking for 13 organizations who will with illusion and passion work with us on this training. Each organization will send 2 participants of which one should be with fewer opportunities. We are looking forward to diversity in our project, to promote inclusion. Therefore we welcome organizations that work with migrants, minorities and multiethnic communities.

Financial conditions:

Accommodation, food, trainers, training materials (…) are 100% covered and travel costs 70% covered by the EU Grant.

Our activities will be with special trainers with long experience, that’s why we ask for a Participation fee in order to improve the quality of the training. We will have outdoor activities and performances on the street with the permission of municipality.

Participation fee: 20€ per participant

We expect you send us “partner description” and “preliminary agreement” with stamp and signature by mail.

Voluntario EVS en Cremona, Italia. Inicio Febrero 2014

  • CisVol offers free services to support the various voluntary associations that operate within the province, in order to:
  • – provide instruments and initiatives for the growth of the culture of solidarity, the promotion of new voluntary initiatives and the improvement of the existing ones;
    – provide information, expert assistance, methods and instruments to plan projects, to start activities and put them into effect;
    – organize trainings for the members of the voluntary organizations;
    – give news, documentation and data about local and national voluntary activities.
    The seat of CisVol in Cremona is located in the outskirts of the city in an ancient building called Palazzo Duemiglia, reachable by public transportand by bike. In the same building there are also the Social Studies and Research Center, the Center for Families, the Foster Children Center and a Social Center for the elderly of the City of Cremona.

Criteria

Cisvol does not have any preference for age, background or nationality of the volunteer. The young, however, should possess a strong motivation to work in the world of volunteering. The volunteer should have spirit of adaptation and should be openness to new activities. Our organisation will read the curricula and the motivation letter of all candidates; it can be arranged some telephone interviews (in English, French or Italian) in the event that the volunteers speak these languages.

Voluntario EVS en Gdansk. Inicio 31 enero 2014

  • The Project will be developed in Gdansk (456.000 inhabitants)and in the Pomeranian Region.Our office is situated in Wrzeszcz, the financial district of Gdansk. There are lots of transport connections by tram, train and bus. The neighbourhood is calm and safe, and you will find every service you can need in a city without walking more than twenty minutes. You won’t have problems to enjoy your leisure time: the district and the city are full of sports courts, gyms, cinemas, cultural centres and libraries, while the cultural life is really intense.In our building you can find three floors where all our workers and volunteers work. Everything is well organized and you will have your own desk, as several rooms to develope different workshops. Every office is totally equipped.

    Our workers are young, active and motivated, and they work in the Eurodesk and Euro Information points, besides their work in different local, regional, national and international projects. Everybody can speak English well, so a fluent communication won’t be a problem, while the environment at the office is nice.

    You will find your own appartment in the same building. Volunteers share the bathroom and the rest of common areas.

Tasks

The volunteer will have to develop a “Skills Bank” in Gdansk, trying to create a net of local volunteers where every volunteer can give and receive different skills. This feedback can be about languages, new technologies, workshops, arts and everything that can be included in non-formal education. Volunteer should have in mind which activities he could teach, which could be useful for the local community and which he would like to implement. In addition, the volunteer will have to organize several workshops, trainings and different projects with youngsters in all the Pomeranian Region, according to the needs of the Pomeranian Youth Found. Those activities that we also propose for this volunteer are: – Polish lessons – Cooperate with other volunteers – Help with office work – Cultural meetings with the local community to show them your culture – Develop your own projects, according to your interests – Networking Some skills you can get from this volunteering are: – Experience – International environment – Different languages – New ideas – Fresh view of the work in a NGO – How to deal with specific targets – Team building – Creativity development – Communication – Polish culture – Cultural management

Criteria

We’re looking for +18 person who really wants to be a volunteer. Dynamic, creative, active, sociable, patient and who knows what she/he wants to do. The volunteer has to be able to develop projects and to feel self-confident. We need ideas and people who want to cooperate with different targets of people, giving their best to the local community. Flexibility is very important. Our European volunteer shouldn’t be afraid of travelling and shouldn’t have bad habits. We would like to host a person with interesting hobbies, really motivated, curious about non-formal education, with independent or critical thinking, open to different cultures, willing to experience Polish way of life. Polish language is not needed, but the volunteer should have interest in learning it; English skills are needed. Previous experience could be useful but not vital.

  • The Mosaici Project 2014 will take place for the 2nd time in Florence in the Head Office of Misericordia di Firenze and in its branches, ambulatories, rest homes and disability centers. All the structures are situated in different areas of the city except for Villa Alessandro, a ‘Disabled Center’ ina suburban area between Florence and Prato.
    It will run from March 2014 to February 2015, there will be six Volunteers from European countries.
    Volunteers will be closely followed by our staff although they will be free to contribute with their personality, ideas and personal competence.

Tasks

The volunteers will be involved in the following tasks: Health and social transport, welcoming services: Activities: Escort service of sick, elderly and disabled people; Drawing up documentation; Assistance and reassuring of the user’s relatives At the consulting rooms, volunteers will welcome the users giving information and helping the staff in their daily work, these structures are situated inside the branches of the Association. Personal care: Reading books or newspapers for some hours a day; Little errands, shopping, small payments in public offices, etc.; Phone assistance; Escort service for walks, company to overcome loneliness and social isolation. Activities in Disability Centers and Rest Homes: Company and animation during the day and for vacations, holidays and recreational events; Staging of performances, assistance/teaching at the computer labs; Listening and communication with the guests and especially with their families; Cooking Labs, Craft Labs, Drawing, Photography, etc.;Volunteers will follow a course on how to interact with disabled people; Solidarity markets organized at Christmas and Easter and sometimes for special events during the year and Food Aid. Besides the volunteers are welcome on activities regarding Volunteering Promotion and European Awareness such as Design of information and illustrative materials, brochures, in English or in the language of the volunteers; the main topics will be: Voluntary Service, European awareness and young people; Drafting of the history of our Museum and promotion of it; the welcoming of groups who want to visit Misericordia and the Museum, in English or in their own language. Contacting Schools, Volunteer Organizations, in Italy and abroad, for affiliations and to promote free visits to our Museum; Promotion of the Volunteering World as a way to spend time with and for other people, especially for young people. Involving the young Volunteers of the Association in new activities. Each of these activities will be documented by written/audio/video materials; these will remain in the Association for the realization of “A Mosaic of Lore, Customs and Testimonies from Europe” for subsequent EVS volunteers, for our volunteers, Florentine citizens and for the many tourists who visit Florence. Criteria

Positive, passionate and creative young person ready to offer his/her time for learning a lot in cooperation with the other volunteers and offer his/her time in Social and cultural project. It is important that you are open minded, show initiative, communicate easy with very different people and are flexible, so you can adapt to different circumstances. You also find it a challenge to work with people with limitations, socially, emotionally or physically elderly people. You don’t mind working outside.

CV and a specific motivation letter sent to evs@misericordia.firenze.it and a filled Questionaire sent back by the Hosting Organization. After a pre-selection, it will follow a skype interview with various candidates.

  • Arche Tirol is an international community of disabled and non-disabled people, who live and work together. The life at Arche is based on the Arche’s international charta, which highlights every person’s unique importance and dignity. The Arche Tirol was founded in 1992 and is a Christian – ecumenical community. Arche Tirol maintains contacts to many other Arche-communities in Europe, Africa and all over the world.At the moment 10 people with mental and multiple disabilities live in two houses, one of them is situated in Gries and the other one in St. Jodok (4 km distance). The people of the community share their everyday life, eat and work together, go shopping, go on excursions, holidays and organise leisure activities, be creative etc.
    The 10 inhabitants of the Arche Tirol are supported by a professional multicultural team.The volunteer will support the multi-professional team at Arche in St. Jodok, where six persons, aged between 20 and 50, live. The volunteer will participate in various aspects the daily work and will be able to contribute with her/his own interests and strengths to the project. She/He will be part of the team and learn a lot about working with people with different disabilities.Service duration: 01.02.2014 – 31.01.2015 (12 months)Arche St. Jodok is situated at the countryside of Tyrol. There are trains (hourly, 30min journey) to Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol.

Profile of the volunteer: • You are interested in working with people with disabilities • You are patient and open-minded • You like to live in a rural village in the mountains • You enjoy contributing to a multicultural team • Some basic knowledge of German would be an advantage, as the habitants of the Arche don´t speak any other language Please give your motivation for the EVS and for this specific project and send the Application Form.   • Bialystok is the centre of the region with a population of almost 300 thousand. The project will take a place there, at The Special Educational Center, which is located in the midtown of Bialystok and it is an important place for handicap and retarded children from all over the region. At school children can use things like: housework workshop, studio of Tomatis’s method therapy, experiencing the world studio, place for rehabilitation (gym, swimmingpool) etc.

Tasks

The volunteer will have a basic responsibility to assist the teacher at school. The volunteer will join the tasks, which encourage the students to grow emotionally, mentally, physically, socially and spiritually. To give an idea of the volunteer’s duties we mention here different sorts during the whole project: Assist/ conduct in social/ recreational programs for the students: at the boarding school: helping students doing their homework, doing crafts, watching movies together, playing games, quizzes, organizing common meetings like teatime, birthday parties, going out, taking part of different evening activities etc.

Criteria

We would like to host someone, who wants to help the others, who is open for new activities. Because the special center is a special organization, we would like to host someone who is not afraid of contact with mentally and physically handicapped. We are looking for someone interested in music (volunteer will assist music teacher), creative and open-minded.

Procedure

All interested people are asked to send us their CV. We’ll also ask to fill in the special form, containing more detailed questions about the motivation of the volunteer. The coordinating organization will pass them to the hosting organization. The final decision will be made by the stuff of the school involved in the project and working directly with the volunteers. Voluntario EVS en Wroclaw, Polonia. Desde 1 septiembre 2013

Title  “Jump into the volunteer’s ferry” group EVS project will be developed in Foundation of Social Integration Prom from Wroclaw, between 1st
Sept 2013 and 31st July 2014.

4 volunteers will work during 10 months (activity starts 01.09.2013 finish 30.06.2014). Main task of the project is equal opportunities and roma communities. This project embraces different levels of interventions towards different populations (Polish children, Romani communities and adults with mental disorder).

It’s aimed to develop solidarity and to promote active citizenship and mutual understanding among young people. Volunteers will work in integrating community centers for youth and children from polish and Romani group, in You are not alone- a club for people with mental disorder and their families, sometimes in the office helping by ongoing project in the frame of Governmental Romani Programme.

Four hours a week will be dedicated to polish lessons. Volunteers will actively take part in all the activities and working methods to be used in the center (workshops, observations, presentations, exchange of ideas, cooperation process, group dynamics) assume that volunteers will actively take part in every stage. Through participation in the project four young people will get acquainted with Polish culture and the Roma minority, will increase their interpersonal, intercultural and language skills, learn interesting ways to work with groups at risk of exclusion, increase self-reliance and
responsibility through a confrontation with another culture.
