As coordinating organisation, we will look for 4 volunteers for next deadline. The 4 volunteers will be active in 3 different organisations. They are all day care centers for adult disable people. Volunteers will support the team to lead leisure and educative activities.
Two organisations are located in Reims and the other organisation hosting two volunteers is located in a village in the countryside. Volunteers should like nature.
“You are not alone club” (adults with mental disorders):
participation and help in the activities for adults with mental disorders; opportunity to create and develop leisure activities (art workshops, gymnastics, field trips, relaxation, theatre, table games); cultural exchange through story telling/ presentations; organization of meetings with other similar centres promoting communication and exchange between the beneficiaries; help in extra activities that might take part (e.g. Easter/Christmas fairs); Helping by food distribution to the poorest families from our beneficiaries.
Children’s centres: participation and help in the activities for children; helping by trials and shows of Children’s Dancing Romani Group “Terne Romani Bacht”; participation in educational projects organised by the foundation; helping in organization of important events exe. Christmas Eve with Prom Foundation; preparation of volunteers own activities under the supervision of Prom’s educational workers; organisation of meetings with the representatives of other community centres and non-governmental organisations from Wroclaw promoting volunteering within the Roma Association – Romani Bacht; meetings promoting volunteers cultural background; helping by organisation and participation in trips (one day or one week long); promotion of the European Voluntarism within the young people from other community centres contributing to the increase of knowledge about different countries and their cultural tradition.
Occasionally in the office: by on going projects within Governmental Programme for the Roma community in Poland helping by organisation of international meetings and conferences, exhibition if there are any within Governmental Programme for the Roma community in Poland.
Volunteers will have a chance to observe different specialist at work: teachers, psychologists, dance teachers, language teachers and art therapist.
Important events organised in the foundation during the year and assisted by volunteers: Christmas Eve, long term trips for children (may be winter or summer holidays).
We would like to invite all the people to take part in the project who are: interested in psychology, educational science studies, social work in a big city, interested in Roma culture, history and current problems of Roma community, creative, optimistic, outgoing and honest, flexible, patient, friendly and helpful, independent, with ability to show initiative (very important in working with people with mental problems) !!! responsible and trustworthy, interested and experienced in work with children, youth, people with mental problems and minorities, interested and experienced in working in NGO’s office, helping with international projects, motivated to complete this project.
Volunteers are not required to have qualifications necessary to work with children, young people or people with mental problems, but some experience in working with this group is essential !!! It will be great when they speak little polish or have interesting skills and hobby: dancing, painting, drawing, hand crafts, circus skills, playing instruments or singing, expirience of theater – very popular with our beneficiaries. Good computer skills will help in work by the projects in the Foundation office.

The volunteers will have the opportunity to attend a German course. They will attend weekly internal course in social work and community service (Sep. – May) too.
Role of EVS volunteers:
The volunteers will primarily act as initiators of own ideas and abilities for the activities with the people but also in helping the people with dressing, shopping, cooking, going for walks, going to church, cleaning etc.. They will have the opportunity to introduce their country by cooking especially dishes or bringing in ideas. So the activities will depend from the volunteers too! Any idea is welcome!
Assisting in dressing, shopping, cleaning, planning of free time activities (playing, going for cinema, singing, special games, language course with people…) of our clients etc. (see aims of the institution). The volunteers will work two weekends a month. The work the have to do depends on the time of the day. And volunteer should involve him-/herself for 100% as we want to realize your ideas and interests in the organisation!
The volunteer should participate in the different types of programme, team meetings, planning and preperation of events and he/she should take over self-responsibility. The working-field is very various and will be influenced by the interests of the volunteer.
The different tasks are:
– Team meeting, preparation and doing the advertisement of events, layout and content of flyers for youth events.
– Keeping the homepage updated and putting in the pictures of the last events.
– Support of young people when they are in the internet room in the K-Haus.
– Preparation of different youth activities (content and organisation) in sport, culture, creativity and education.
– Meeting and networking with different youth houses in the region.
The working will always be done and discussed in team, and be done by those who have interests and abilities in the different fields; and working differs always a little bit between group work and taking over some selfs responsibility.
Concernings the “Lehrlingsstiftung”-project the volunteer should participate in two evening-sessions of the “Wohnprojekt”, which means preparing the evening meal with the apprentices, joining the organization of the evening (having a cinema-visit, film evenings, playing games, playing street soccer, volleyball,…) and guaranteeing the fixed bed-times (for the apprentices).
The volunteer is also involved in the “Lehrlingsstiftung” (connected to the K-Haus, where apprentices live) were he/she is in contact with 25 young people.
The different tasks in the Lehrlingsstiftung start at 4 p. m. with a
– meeting with the workmates about what happened during the day. During the “kitchen service” the EVS must follow and help the two youngsters charched to prepare the tables and to take the meal from the mean kitchen downstairs. The same youngsters must clean the room aft…

Cluj-Napoca Volunteer Center is searching for 3 volunteers to take part in a one year hospital animation project in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
The project has as main objective the personal development of the volunteers, including growth in areas such as communication skills, deeper understanding of the concept of mutual acceptance and tolerance, time management skills, planning and organizing events, team-work related skills , creativity and innovation etc; at the same time at the community level, the project aims at enhancing the healing process of the children hospitalized in the local Children’s hospital by creating an environment that will support that.
What will the volunteers do?
The volunteers will work 4 days a week in the hospital, mostly in the afternoon (from 13-17), in order to prevent their activities from interfering with the medical procedures that usually take place in the first part of the day; the total number of working hours for the volunteer every day is of 6, including the language courses and other type of activities besides working in the hospital; no involvement will be compulsory for the volunteer beyond this limit, any further participation in the activities of the organization being possible only if the volunteer expresses a direct desire for this; the schedule presented below shows an example of how a one-week program would look like; The volunteers will work in 4 different sides of the hospital: pediatric surgery and orthopedics, nephrology (here they will work with children dealing with dialysis) and the Pediatrics Clinic nr. 3 and nr. 1 (working with children that have respiratory problems).
At the beginning of the project the volunteers will be trained in a few introductory notions about clinic animation by the staff of our organization but also by other local volunteers that have been working already in this field. The specific daily activities in the hospital will require the active input of each volunteer since the EVS volunteers will be the main actors in choosing the activities, planning them, preparing all the materials and delivering them to the children (all this will happen with the support offered when needed by the project coordinator but also by local volunteers). The volunteers will not substitute the medical staff or be involved in activities that are similar to the medical attention given by doctors or nurses, but will bring something new to what a hospital offers in Romania, that is a series of educational and artistic activities such as: storytelling, English lessons (using the methods specific to the non-formal education), planning different games according to the level of mobility of the patients.
Association “Georgian Youth for Europe” is a non-government organization founded in 2006 by active leaders of Kvemo Kartli Organization of the Scout Movement and is located in Rustavi city, Georgia.
The mission of GYE is to empower youth of Kvemo Kartli region in Georgia to achieve their full physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual potential both as individuals and as responsible citizens.
Target group – with which EVS volunteers would work GYE mainly works with 12-25-year-old young people who are regularly visiting GYE office and Youth Centers. Almost every Georgian youngster can communicate with foreigners at least in basic English.
They also know Russian. All GYE staff members fluently speak in English and Russian. If there are situations when a person with whom an EVS volunteer communicates doesn’t know any foreign language, someone from GYE staff or a volunteer’s mentor can help him/her to fix this problem by translating their conversation.
GYE is aiming to promote, with support of EVS volunteers, available initiatives and non- formal education activities for youth in Georgia. GYE is trying to extend opportunities of local youth and children to express themselves physically and intellectually, and actively participate by developing and implementing local youth projects. We want to contribute to changes in the society by providing the after-school education activities, through non-formal education and volunteering. The aim is to change geographical and social isolation of young people in Rustavi and other small region cities to the active participation based on possibilities.
In the office of GYE, wireless internet will be provided to the volunteers. Also we have computers in our office and volunteers will be provided with their own work space and all necessary tools for working –including stationery, a computer, a desk, etc. Of course, for more comfortable use, we advise you to bring your own laptop.
Living conditions of EVS volunteers
Long-term volunteers will share with a flat will share a flat with one another – about 5 minutes walking distance from the town centre and 1 minute – from GYE office. Each volunteer will have his/her own private bedroom. EVS volunteers will be given money to buy their own food. There is a kitchen in the volunteers’ flat where they can prepare meals. Shops and restaurants are close-by (a 2-5-minute walk)
Disability Centre Support
Volunteers working at the Disability Centre will entertain different groups of people (from 7 to 40 years old) with games and creative activities.
Needed: positive, patient, Creative, previous experience with disabled persons a plus International project management
The volunteer will be asked to work as an assistant to the different project coordinators. There are 3 project coordinators responsible for different kind of projects: training courses, seminars, international youth exchanges, study visits, scouting and environment activities. EVS volunteer together with Georgian volunteers will be working, according to the up-to-date need, with one or another project coordinator on planning, implementation and evaluation of these projects. Also the EVS volunteer can be asked to communicate with our national and international partners, find new possibilities for cooperation, networking, etc. EVS volunteer will be always coached and be able to discuss what he/she is thinking about the activities and projects and how much responsibility he/she wants; suggest modifications. The staff will of course always welcome any creative ideas coming from the volunteer, for instance, in the youth area.
Needed: responsible and good intercultural communication skills, serious toward taken tasks, good team work skills.
The club provides after school food and fun to children who live in difficult conditions. Once in a week, about 10 kids come to GYE to enjoy life with games, food, art, and team building activities.
Needed: Loves kids and cooking, creative, energetic, can easily communicate with children who don’t speak any foreign language.
This task involves arranging practicalities, preparing leaflets about our activities, preparing monthly organizational newsletter BULLDOZER, updating the GYE website, Facebook page and other little jobs depending on the need of the organisation. Also we have movie club where volunteer will be involved and making GYE video promotion materials together with local volunteers.
Needed: Self-motivated, hard working, collaborative, interested in IT, graphic design programs and experience in web-site maintenance.
To foster young people’s sense of European citizenship, to raise Volunteering awareness among Georgia youngsters with fewer opportunities and less-privileged backgrounds. Volunteers can tell or make presentations, culture days about their countries, European Union and European Citizenship, Human rights, promote EVS, raise European awareness, etc. Volunteers will present the information in informal way as well as organize informal games and quizzes about chosen topic and short games to fight prejudice against minorities or people anyhow different.
Needed: Interest in different topics what challenging and can make better our lives, interested in actual topics/issues in our societies, tolerant, open-minded with sence of interculture understanding.
To help us to plan and realize Leisure type indoor and outdoor activities during a year:
• Work with GYE initiatives realized in Eco village
• To assist and lead events related with Nature Adventure – Fishing competition, orientation, survivals, basic
• To organize thematic educational presentations which will helps local youth to gain new useful skills, for
example renewable energy, recycling, biodiversity, nature and wildlife, organic farming.
• To assist or lead different outdoor / ecological competitions – Geocatching.
• To help educators to plan and realize Leisure type indoor and outdoor adventure activities during year:
Hikes, Weekend camping, Wall climbing, rafting, etc.
Active, interested in sport and outdoor/environmental education and activities, experienced in camping and adventure.
To rise interest in hobby education related with different Handy crafts and arts for local youth. As well each week there can be a different topics: fitness, film, going to the theater, visiting museums. Be fun and be local. This volunteer should be really motivated to discover all that Rustavi has to offer so that Rustavi residents can be proud and aware of things to do in this city.
Needed: Creativity, outgoing, handy, interested to find out new things in Rustavi.
Conversation club of foreign languages
For the past 5 years GYE has been offering different level of English, German, Spanish, French, Russian etc language, classes with the support of EVS volunteers. English and other language classes are not always taught by native language speakers in order to expose local youth to different accents, as well as to demonstrate the importance of the foreign languages to international interactions. We also hope to offer an introductory English class for the teachers at the disability center.
Needed: Patience, positive attitude and who have advanced level of English or other languages and wish to teach language
NOTE: We are expecting to host 7 long term EVS volunteers.

The youth welfare office Steinfurt is regionally responsible to the youth politics, the youth professional aid, for the co-ordination of the open and associated youth work, as well as for youth-specific topics. Additionally it is coordinating organization for the hosting and sending projects of the European voluntary service since 1997. Since this time over 200 volunteers from 23 different countries did their EVS in our region and over 180 young people went out of Germany into another European country to gain new experiences with the EVS.
